PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Florida Valve 2012 is designed to be an innovative educational experience, drawing upon the knowledge of the world’s leaders in Cardiac Surgery, Percutaneous Interventions, Cardiovascular Imaging, Cardiac Anesthesiology and Electrophysiology. Global contributions will be made regarding current and new knowledge centering on innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of valvular heart disease.
The dramatic advances in cardiac surgery and percutaneous interventions paralleled by the advancing age of our population have led to a transformation of the management of valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and atrial fibrillation. Florida Valve ’12 will build upon the information of earlier symposia to discuss not only the recent advances in interventional and surgical techniques in valvular heart disease but further delve into how advances in technology also have application and necessary knowledge on handling complex coronary artery disease as well as atrial fibrillation. Remaining unique among the educational field by providing equal representation of the world’s leaders in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Florida Valve ’12 will also present information on the future strategic direction of the field of valvular heart disease that may enhance practice. Also represented will be Clinical Cardiologists, who are experts in imaging and management of valvular heart disease, as well as authors on the latest ACC/AHA Guidelines for Valvular Heart Disease. World experts in trans-catheter therapies will be present to enhance the translational knowledge between specialties.
These experts bring a wealth of clinical knowledge and will provide the latest on diagnosis and surgical and percutaneous interventions. With faculty equally represented by the foremost leaders in Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology together in a dynamic and personal interchange, the audience will not only learn the current advances in treatment of valvular heart disease but will enjoy lively and direct personal one-on-one discussions with the faculty in an open and friendly environment.
